Pedestrian Safety while dog walking

Earlier this year, during the pandemic, a teacher of an online alternative learning program in upstate New York reached out to me. She asked if I could so kindly link to an article relating to pedestrian safety while walking dogs. nnFrom what she told me, her students came across my website and blog posts while doing research for a school project. I thought it so lovely that I felt it needed to be shared.

Some highlights from the article:

Keep your dog(s) on a short leash

Face traffic

Cross the street safely

Cross single file

Be aware of runners and cyclists

Make sure you’re visible

Move predictably (WOW, I know, right? 🙂

Don’t blast music

Keep your head on a swivel

Don’t look at your phone – put it away
